My Favorite Era posted on 07/01/2008
I started watching the Giants in the early 1980s, shortly after their nice run in the 1981 playoffs and right before Bill Parcells became coach. I remember his first season, that dreadful 3-12-1 campaign, and we didn't know if he was going to keep his job. But the Tuna stayed, and the team developed into a powerhouse. As I watched them, got older, and really began to grasp what they were doing, I realized they were a special group. And they were, as their efforts were rewarded with two Super Bowl victories.
On offense, they were not flashy or special, but they got the job done. They had a real blue collar feel to them, and we, the fans, loved it. Phil Simms was a great quarterback, but he never put up the statistics that Joe Montana or Dan Marino did. They scored enough points to win, but never really made the highlights films in doing so. They were as plain as a Chevy Chevette, but as efficient as a Toyota.

My Favorite Place posted on 06/23/2008
I don't know about my fellow Giants fans who are reading this, but I am sad that Giants Stadium is on its way out. As far as stadiums go, it's not old, built in 1975. I've always liked it, it's my favorite place to be when I'm not home, and I've had many memorable days inside that building.
I've had great days there; like seeing the Giants throttle the Vikings in the NFC Championship in January, 2001. And I've seen many other games there that the Giants have won to advance in the playoffs, or gain a playoff berth. Conversely, I've seen horrible and heartbreaking losses there, like the playoff loss to Minnesota in that Wild Card game we don't like to speak about. It was 1997, but it still hurts.
Still, on a Sunday during football season, I love going to Giants Stadium with my dad and the guys we go to the games with. Hanging out in the parking lot before the game, I take it all in, enjoying the fact that it's another gameday afternoon and we are about to spend three fun hours watching the Giants do battle. I saw my first game there in September of 1984 and have been going there every year since, and unfortunately, it looks like I will be seeing my last game there relatively soon.

Hello Fans! posted on 06/20/2008
Well, here I am, and pretty happy about the fact that I can blog about my favorite football team, the one that's been giving me heartburn and euphoria since 1982. Here, to start, this is just to let everyone know that I'm here and will post various thoughts and comments on my beloved Giants. A season ticket holder, who loves spending eight Sundays in the fall in Giants Stadium, I will be a fan no matter if they win the Super Bowl or go 2-14. I hope to correspond with other Giants fans, and hope my friends and family enjoy reading this. Many more entries about my heoes will come, no matter if it's off-season or the playoffs.
