Goodbye Shockey

I never thought my obsession with the Giants would lead me to blogging but here we go.  The New York Giants have lost some key pieces to their superbowl team with the departure of Gibril Wilson, Kawika Mitchell, and Reggie Torbor.   Mathais Kiwanuka will be back from injury which takes care of the loss of Torbor.  We have signed Sammy Knight to replace Wilson, but have not found anybody to add depth to those positions.

April 26th could be a very interesting day for Giants fans.  The draft savvy of Jerry Reese should get any Giants fan excited about who could be joining our team.  An interesting rumor has started to circulate.  Apparently the Miami Dolphins are interested in Jeremy Shockey.  The rumor is that they are offering their 2nd round pick.  The interesting thing about this rumor is that in essence Miami's 2nd round pick is a first round pick.  Since NE lost their pick during spygate Miami's pick will be 32 in the draft the same number Kiwanuka was drafted in 2006.  I tihnk the oppurtunity for the Giants to have back to back picks would be to good to pass up.  YES, we all LOVE Shockey and he is a great player.  The fact is he is OVERRATED.  He is the 3rd best TE in our DIVISION.  In other years I would say a 2nd round pick is not worth Shockey.  However, with Reese's draft ability and how good the pick is, I think the Tuna can have the player that called him gay.
